Faith in the Midst of Trials

Holding On in Hard Times

Many figures in the Bible face unimaginable struggles. Job, for example, endures tremendous loss and suffering, yet he declares, “I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end, he will stand upon the earth” (Job 19:25).

These sacred words remind us that it’s okay to be honest with God about our fears, grief, and confusion. Faith isn’t about pretending everything is perfect. It’s about trusting that even when life feels chaotic, God’s story is unfolding—and we are part of it.

Staying Grounded When Life Feels Uncertain

Scripture encourages us to stand firm, even when life is unpredictable. Paul reminds the Thessalonians that they are chosen by God, called to sanctification, and guided by the Holy Spirit (2 Thessalonians 2:13–14).

Faith gives us an anchor. It doesn’t erase questions or make hardships disappear, but it reminds us that we are never alone. Holding onto what God has revealed helps us navigate uncertainty with hope rather than despair.

Called Before We Know

Isaiah 49:1–7 | 1 Corinthians 1:1–9 | John 1:29–42 Isaiah speaks with a kind of quiet boldness when he says, “The Lord called me before I was born; while I was in my mother’s womb he named me.” This is not poetic exaggeration.
